BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY

Individual, couples, families

There are times you may need individual healing and and/or relational healing. You will find that at least one of our therapists are trained and gifted in providing either couples or family therapy as well. If you or your child are seeing a therapist for individual work, you may receive a recommendation for couples or family therapy to expand on your own or child’s healing journey into your relationships. Symptoms are often derived from relationship patterns that aren’t working well for individuals involved (e.g. parent/child relationship patterns, couple patterns, wounds from past relationships, peer relationships, work dynamic relationships). The patterns we all can feel stuck in can have us or our children feel unloved, disconnected, and unable to work through disagreements effectively. Systemic work can truly evolve into the relational change you may have felt would or could not happen. Sometimes couples or families receive relational therapy and find one or more members need some individual healing for the dynamic to reach it’s full potential. Either way, Sana Holistic Care has a professional who can meet your needs. Please visit our bio therapist pages to learn more about each professional.

When you have faced difficult experiences in your life there are moments that may never seem to end. You may be feeling like that experience(s) follows you around every where since it has also helped a negative belief system evolve over time. For children, they developmental internalize everything, so many different types of experiences can impact children into developing a negative belief system leading to thoughts feelings and behaviors out of that negative belief system. It can feel helpless if you or your child suffer ongoing distress that seems to overpower quality of life no matter what you do to try to change it. Life can feel like you are relieving the effects of bad memories or experiences every day in some way through random or chronic anxiety or depression symptoms. Maybe you find yourself triggered by sounds, maybe being in a car or situation you feel you don't have control over, or a certain smell or place that makes you feel like you are right back in a terrifying experience. It is normal to feel this way based on how our body and brains store information from negative experiences. Oftentimes, we can become so accustomed to these feelings that we forget what it is like to not be in a constant state of fear or discomfort. That is where EMDR treatment comes into play.

We have therapists who are extensively trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is "is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal and become desensitized from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy, people can experience the benefits of a healing process that once took much longer to make a difference. It is widely assumed that severe emotional pain requires a very long time to heal or can't heal at all. This modality has proven to be uniquely effective for many in helping to reduce stress responses to triggers and lead an individual to a more peaceful existence out of their true self. For children, some of our therapists offer play therapy in conjunction with EMDR to meet their developmental needs. You or your child's therapist can explain more around how they incorporate EMDR into their approach.

play therapy

Since children learn and express themselves through play, play therapy can help them express pain and promote a safe familiar way for healing. We believe that children need to and are capable of directing some of the healing process and also need a trusting adult to help guide the way. Trust and connection are the foundations for change and healing. Teens also sometimes need another outlet like art or sand tray therapy so they can use creativity and symbolic expression to process what they need to for what words can't fully express. Play therapy allows for sand tray, art, games and other tools to educate and normalize what your child has or is going through, and create a safe outlet for their unique healing process. Family therapy can also include play or expressive therapy to enhance connection, build trust and healthy boundaries, and strengthen parent child relationships when needed.

Addiction TREatment

We understand that the struggle with addiction is not a straight road to recovery. More importantly we understand that addiction is a disease. One that can be all consuming and feel impossible to face when going in it alone. We provide a space for clients to be open about their addiction and all of the emotions that come with trying to recover and move forward.
If you find yourself struggling please don't hesitate to reach out. If you love someone struggling in addiction and find yourself needing support we are here to support you as well.
