Laurie, Co-owner of Sana, works with children, teens and adults. She provides EMDR for all ages, play and expressive therapy for children and teens, and family therapy. Her main specialties include generational attachment wounds, trauma, chronic anxiety disorders, adoption, ADHD, hard life transitions, grief and loss, dating, and parent-child/teen relationships. Her career history includes working for a small law firm with a strong family like environment for 1o years preceding work as an in-home therapist for the foster care system of KS and leading IOP groups for adults and teens. Her path into private practice started in early 2015.

She believes we all have the power and ability to live more out of love instead of fear, it just takes healing to do so. Sometimes that healing involves the need of a therapeutic relationship.

Often times, we find ourselves surviving instead of truly living. There is a true understanding around how scary therapy can feel and seem as we must look into the pain causing ongoing distress. She appreciates the opportunity to walk with you through this process by first teaching you how to strengthen the feelings and connections to your inner strengths, accomplishments, positive relationships and more that adversity can seem to override. This positive focused phase of treatment creates a buffer to processing the tough stuff. Therapy becomes a collaborative process that allows her clients to have the choice and voice for the pace and direction. Her individuals and families are met with compassion, acceptance, creativity and warmth.
